The Plan

Erica and John's destination wedding in sunny Santa Barbara, California was nothing less than magical. The couple, who live in New York, brought their closest friends and family to the west coast for a long weekend at the Ritz Carlton, Bacara over Fourth of July weekend.

Guests arrived to their rooms and were greeted with custom pool totes and an itinerary for the weekend. By the time the wedding day arrived, they all knew each other and were ready to celebrate the newlyweds.

The Details

Erica, who has a keen eye for style, curated the wedding design to accentuate the California coast that many of their guests do not frequently visit. Mixing light neutrals with navy blue created a perfect palette against the idyllic Santa Barbara bluffs background. Erica enlisted help from her sister who drew the venue sketches and then created the stationery herself.

The Dress

Erica's dress was chic and modern, by the stellar Sarah Seven, and coupled with soft pink Gucci heels. Erica's hair was styled by Marla Nyamdorj and her makeup was done by Kendal Lopez. John's navy suit came from Suit Supply and popped against his groomsmen's beige suits from Generation Tux.

The Day

As the wedding began, guests were greeted with an incredible view of the Santa Barbara, accentuated by florals from Ojala Florals, where the intimate ceremony was held and stayed there for cocktail hour and live music by the local Brett Hunter Band. Erica's father brought his guitar and jammed out with the duo as Erica and John had their impromptu "first dance."

As guests moved into the rotunda terrace, they were met with beats by Dart Collective DJ Jason and a dance floor lined with long tables where guests found their seats. The tablescape was inspired by California's coast, keeping the neural, pastel and navy color palette. The tables were accessorized with light wood chairs from Elan Event Rentals and chargers from Otis and Pearl.

The couple danced the night away, ended the evening with an affogato station and tons of disposable/polaroid cameras on the dance floor. The evening's events were coordinated by Melanie from LuckEleven Events and beautifully captured by Ali Beck Photography and Andrew Paul on videography.
