The Reception

The reception was where all the magic happened. The botanic garden had hanging greenery chandeliers and guests were blown away by the setting and colorful place settings. Natalie and Jake choreographed a fun first dance, telling the story of their relationship through interpretive dance and pros and ended it with a flashmob of their wedding party. Jake later sang a song he wrote for Natalie and also sang her first dance with her dad. They ended the evening serving and gifting their favorite ice cream in San Diego to all of their guests!

When I talk about customizing your wedding to fit your personalities, THIS is how to do it! The couple was incredibly outgoing, so we added bright colors to the mix. They are sustainable and outdoorsy so we hosted everyone in a greenhouse and used reusable table settings. The included their loved ones by hiring friends as vendors. A perfect day for a perfect couple!

The Day

Natalie and Jake’s wedding day was filled with surprises! Guests arrived at the San Diego Botanic Gardens, located in my hometown of Encinitas. I planned my second wedding of LuckEleven Events at this same garden before the greenhouse was built. It was so nice to be home for a wedding and have my family as my assistants!

The Ceremony

Guests started their evening at the ceremony on the top of the gardens in a beautiful and intimate ceremony at the walled gardens. From there, we provided ladies with flip flops and had guests stroll down the garden path to the cocktail hour outside of the greenhouse. There, they were greeted with a live violinist, a cozy candle-lit corner to sit in and a space to find their seats. Escort cards were custom seed markers with guests names on them to tie in the garden theme.
