The Plan

This modern wedding was designed around the watercolor desert sunsets that often pain the sky in Palm Springs. We chose soft neutrals, mauve and sage green as the main colors and paired them with natural textures like wood and stone to compliment the mountains around them.

The bartender served a spicy skinny margarita in honor of the bride's heritage and a Trinidad sour in honor of the groom's home country. The menu consisted of a fresh vineyard salad to start and followed with seared salmon, bourbon braised short ribs or a vegetable towel as the entree.

One of Kwesi's "must haves" was excellent dessert and he took tasting very seriously. The night ended with 3 separate flavored cakes; red velvet, rainbow funfetti, and weekend cake and was accompanied by mini cupcakes in nine original flavors from Over The Rainbow.

Mary's talented friends offered to sing some of the most important songs at their wedding. Sody, sang "Feels like home" by Bonnie Raitt as Mary's bridal walk down the aisle. Jenna Ushkowitz (famously in Glee) sang their first dance song, the Lauryn Hill version of "I Can't Take My Eyes Off You".

Mary's something borrowed was her bridesmaid Nicole Bruno's veil from her wedding earlier that year and her mom was dressed appropriately for her something blue.

The flower girl dresses were custom made by Show Me Your Mumu to match Mary's Sarah Seven slip dress (and are now available for purchase, the Little Verona dress).

As the band ended their set, the natural lull in the night as we transitioned to a DJ was masked by Mary's wardrobe change into a full sequin bodysuit by Show Me You Mumu, and Mary and Kwesi re-entering the party, handing out light up glow sticks for all guests. Guests danced the night away with a live band and a collection of desserts to close out the evening!
